Managed IT
Managed IT Services
Managed IT means we look after your entire technology environment for a flat monthly fee — monitoring it, patching it, securing it and answering the phone when something goes wrong.
The problem
Break-fix punishes you for having problems
The hourly model pays your IT provider more when things break and nothing when they run well. So nobody patches, nobody checks the backups, and the first real conversation you have about your network is during an outage — at emergency rates. Meanwhile the costs are unpredictable exactly when you can least afford them.
Our approach
A flat fee that aligns us with uptime
One predictable monthly figure covering monitoring, maintenance, security baseline and unlimited help desk. When your systems run well we make money; when they break we lose it. That is the whole point of the model, and it is why proactive work actually gets done.
What you get
Included as standard
Not an upsell list. These are the things that make the difference between a service you pay for and a service that works.
- Predictable monthly cost with no surprise hourly bills
- Response times written into the agreement by severity
- Patching and updates applied on a schedule, not when someone remembers
- Backups verified by restore test, not assumed
- MFA, endpoint protection and email security as baseline
- Asset and licence inventory you actually own a copy of
- Named engineer who knows your environment
- Quarterly technology review and written roadmap
How we work
What actually happens
- 1
Assessment
We document what you actually have — devices, servers, licences, backups and who has access to what. Most businesses are surprised by this list.
- 2
Stabilise
Fix what is broken or dangerous first: failing backups, missing MFA, unpatched machines, shared passwords.
- 3
Onboard
Monitoring agents, documentation, ticketing and a named point of contact. You get the runbook, not just the invoice.
- 4
Improve
Quarterly review against a written roadmap, so next year's spend is planned rather than reactive.
Technologies
What we build on
Vendor-neutral where it matters. We will tell you when the cheaper option is the right one.
- Microsoft 365 & Entra ID
- RMM monitoring and patching
- Managed EDR
- Immutable cloud backup
- Password management
- Documentation platform
Questions
Managed IT questions
How is managed IT priced?
Per user or per device, monthly. Per user usually works out better once people have a laptop and a phone. The figure depends on headcount, whether you have servers, and whether compliance work is included.
Do you replace our current IT person?
Not necessarily. Plenty of businesses keep someone internal who knows the operation and use us for after-hours cover, security and the specialist work. We are happy to be the second line rather than the only line.
What is not included?
Hardware, software licences and major projects like a full office move are quoted separately. We are explicit about that boundary in the agreement so there is no argument later.
What happens if we leave?
You take your documentation, passwords and admin access with you. We build environments to be handed over. A provider who makes leaving painful is telling you something about how they retain clients.
